Friendship House provides meals, showers, clothing and personal care items to anyone in need in our community. By meeting the basic needs of those affected by homelessness and poverty, we offer kindness, dignity and respect.
We are grateful for the many donors in our community who make it possible for us to provide these services. All donations are tax-deductible and greatly benefit your neighbors in need.
We accept donations of all kinds, but please be sure to check out our greatest needs.
As a partner of Northwest Harvest, and to ensure the safety and wellness of our vulnerable population, we cannot accept the following food items due to food safety concerns:
-Home canned or pickled foods
-Foods in dented, rusty cans or dirty containers
-Foods past a "Use By" date, unless frozen
-Foods in open or torn containers
-foods with an "off" odor
"When in doubt, throw it out!"
Friendship House accepts food donations of all kinds, including leftovers from group events. Please ensure that food has been cooled and stored properly. There is no need to call ahead to see if we will accept items. Frozen or refrigerated items cannot be accepted after 7:30pm.
Food donations can be dropped off at the Friendship House Café, located at 108 Snoqualmie Street in Mount Vernon.
Friendship House accepts a wide variety of in-kind donations, including clothing, household items and personal care items. We gladly accept anything that is clean and usable, but cannot accept open or partially used personal care items like soap and shampoo.
Donations may be dropped off during daylight hours at the appropriate shelter:
Men's House: 1008 S Third St
Women's House: 922 S Third St
Please call the main office at 360.336.6138 regarding large items like furniture or appliances. We have limited storage space available, and prefer to connect donors with residents who are moving into their own housing and need furniture.
