Program updates and upcoming events

You can support Friendship House in partnership with the Haggen Foundation

Picture
It starts today!✨ March 24th - May 18th, we are honored to be a part of Haggen's Cultivating Community Together Fundraiser. Next time you are in Haggen's Burlington or Mount Vernon location, the donation you make at the register supports us and our programs! No matter how small, these donations are what allowed us to serve 53,465 meals in 2020.

The Friendship House Café went Solar!

Picture
The Friendship House Café is going solar! Friendship House has been awarded a $53,499 grant to install a roof-mounted solar renewable energy system.

The grant is funded through PSE’s Green Power and Solar Choice customers to bring local, community oriented solar projects to PSE’s electric service area while providing vital support to those in need through lower utility bills for our low-income or Black, Indigenous, and People of Color customers and the organizations that serve them.

The first phase of the cost saving project including the installation of solar panels on the Café roof has been completed. The next step is connecting to the existing PSE power grid. The long-term benefit is the potential for substantially lower power bills for the Café.

Everyone at Friendship House says THANK YOU to Puget Sound Energy for the grant funds and to Western Solar Inc. for their technical support and timely installation.

Watch our website www.skagitfriendshiphouse.org for pictures and updates as we look forward to “Green Power” in the Café.
