Jason Wells
Executive Director
Jason Wells is Executive Director of Skagit Friendship House, the largest homeless services provider in Skagit County. He took the helm in January 2026, the year SFH marks forty years of service.
He leads a team that runs sober and transitional housing, the low-barrier Skagit First Step Center in Burlington, and a Community Café that serves a free dinner every night of the year. The Café also anchors Hunger to Hope, a culinary apprenticeship. His aim is simple: help people take the next step toward home.
He served on the SFH board and as a Housing Authority commissioner before stepping up to lead. He now sits on Mount Vernon's Comprehensive Plan advisory committee.
Jason is a retired U.S. Navy Captain and a former National Security Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School. That service matters here at SFH, which served 59 veterans in 2025. Today he commands the Anacortes Veterans of Foreign Wars post and belongs to Anacortes Elks Lodge #1204.
He and his family call Anacortes home. On the rare day off, he slips away to fly fish.
