Facility Updates
Friendship House is elated to share the many great capital improvements throughout 2022 and plan to continue major projects into 2024 to update and maintain our facilities to provide continued services to our community long term.
Laundry facility upgrades
We are all very excited for the new laundry equipment upgrades, delivered in May 2023! With these upgrades, we saw all facilities getting the highest quality machinery to best handle the heavy use, allowing us to better meet the substantial demand. From the City support to upgrade the Love & Laundry facility to the sponsor support from our own local Judd and Black, in Mount Vernon, we are grateful that the Men and Women's shelters to also receive upgrades!
Thank you for supporting our programs, we open laundry to the public with volunteer support and these upgrades are long needed.

Another paint job
Recently updated, the exterior of our Women & Children's facility took on a new tone...enjoy the lovely hue of evergreen as you pass by next time, or when you are delivering a batch of donations. Also we are pleased to share the Men's House and our Transitional property in Burlington have had updates to some aging windows. All needed repairs have been completed and we will continue work on windows at the Admin building along with the Women's shelter in 2023.

Women's ShelterThe lower level living dormitory area of the Women and Children's shelter had been under construction since early 2022. To satisfy the sewer issue discovered, the residents had to vacate the lower living level to make way for concrete upheaval and a full rebuild of the sewer lines.
Overflow storage needs for the incredible donations of wears we receive brought a need for a new shed build. We are ever grateful for the community that made this happen! While the roof replacement actually started it all. |
